How It All Began

Every movement begins with a single seed. For MAANYI, that seed was planted in 2024 when our Founder Majorine noticed a critical gap in rural development across Zirobwe in the Luwero District of Uganda.

Working closely with the locals, she saw a recurring theme. Women and young people were incredibly determined to improve their lives, yet they lacked the practical skills and resources to actually build a stable future. Meanwhile, local farmers were working harder than ever but struggling against a changing climate, declining soil fertility, and a lack of modern sustainable farming methods.

Majorine realized that temporary handouts would never create lasting change. True transformation requires practical skills, shared knowledge, and genuine opportunity.

Driven by this belief, she founded MAANYI. The mission was simple but ambitious. We wanted to empower marginalized communities through active skills training, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilient innovations. What started as a small effort to teach practical livelihood skills has blossomed into a vibrant development Centre. Today, we proudly serve women, youth, local farmers, and schools.

We now promote vocational training, regenerative agriculture, school gardens, environmental sustainability, and community driven innovation. Yet no matter how much we grow, our core philosophy remains exactly the same. We provide the tools, the training, and the support. The communities themselves provide the strength, the determination, and the vision for their own development.

Together, we are building a future where marginalized communities thrive through newly acquired skills, environmental sustainability, and real opportunity.
